Network Performance Improvement Services Description
[Services for 2G and 3G network, Wi-Max related]

Network Performance Improvement comprises of four separate services for investigation, evaluation and improvement of the network performance and service quality as perceived by the subscriber of the mobile Operator’s network.

The services available are:

• Brief System Audit, BSA
• System Performance Review, SPR
• Switch Network Improvement, SNI
• Radio Network Improvement, RNI

The four services all have a separate focus. Two services apply to different parts of the network, the Radio network (RNI) and the Switching nodes/ Transmission network (SNI). The other two of the services are focusing the performance improvement from Operator’s view, with a focus on how well the network resources are used (BSA), and the subscriber view with a focus on how the subscribers perceive the network quality (SPR). Brief System Audit and System Performance Review are review services, investigating both SS and BSS part of the network, focusing on traffic and signaling.

Radio Network Improvement and the Switch Network Improvement services will function as in-depth investigation services with recommendations and/or actions implemented for fault correcting and/or optimizations purposes. The services use different methods and tools even though they are defined to complement each other to secure an optimized performance of the mobile network in total. This means that we can offer a complete package of services, covering all parts of the mobile network.

On node level as well as on network level, or as a service agreement that defines a proposed scope of work and proposed division of responsibility between Operator and Insight Unity in a partnership for improved/ maintained network quality. It is strongly recommended to follow up the NPI after that agreed changes and improvements have been implemented.
